Garden Equipment

Garden equipment is required to ensure the success of your garden, no matter its size. Here is a list of the most common garden tools:
· Hoe – used for weeding and for cultivating.
· Pitchfork – helps circulate compost piles and much.
· Leaf rake – vital for clearing debris out of and around the garden.
· Hand pruners – garden equipment for pruning small branches and twigs. Anvil or scissor pruners are larger and used for bigger jobs.
· Loppers – these are similar to hand pruners, except that they are bigger and have longer handles. Loppers cut thicker branches a lot easier than hand pruners.
· Pruning saw – if you can not cut through something with a lopper, this piece of garden equipment can help get the job done.
· Hand trowel –for small-scale digging and planting.
· Spading fork – this is used to turn over soil.
· Spade – used for digging. This blade is a straighter angle than a shovel. Use the handle as a lever to bring soil up.
· Shovel – this is meant for moving dirt and material from one place to another, not digging!
· Matlock – for chopping and prying out old root systems.
· Cultivator – this piece of garden equipment breaks up hard and crusty soil.
